Telehorn Returns with “ALMOST LOST” Music Video
May 15, 2025 – Today, Montréal-based artist Telehorn (aka Jacob Vanderham) unveils a stirring new music video directed by Jasen Loughlin for “Almost Lost,” a standout single from his debut album The Gravity of See You Later, released one year ago on May 17, 2024.
Set against lush landscapes, the video captures Telehorn in serene communion with the world depicting moments of clarity and presence in nature as he glides through the waters and immerses in vast greenery. Echoing the song’s emotional pull, the visuals capture connecting to one’s true purpose and the exhilaration of everything suddenly feeling possible.
Speaking of the music video, Vanderhorn shares:
I wanted this video to live in a timeless landscape. Our director, Jasen Loughlin, pitched the idea of shooting on location at a remote lake in the Eastern Townships, and it felt like the perfect match—nothing but trees, sun, and water. Spending too much time in the city can dim my connection to the natural world, and this video became a kind of response to that—a return to nature as a space of emotional and spiritual freedom. The song speaks to the intentional use of psychedelics as a way to transcend our hardened inner landscapes. I hope viewers can catch a little contact high from the video and let their imaginations wander.
Written, recorded, and arranged entirely at Vanderhorn’s home studio, “Almost Lost” is a groovy, string-laden finale to an album that introduced a new voice in Canadian music. With contributions from Congolese bassist Dauphin Mbuyi and production by JUNO-winner Austin Tufts of Braids, the track leaves an impression with its textured instrumentation and emotional depth.
A former actor turned alt-pop auteur, Vanderham launched Telehorn in Berlin in 2020 and moved to Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Telehorn draws inspiration from eclectic influences like Beck, Prince, Joni Mitchell, and Radiohead to craft a musical identity that dances between folk, synth-pop, rock, and funk
Up next, Vanderham has teamed up with songwriter/producer Nick Lanyon of experimental Montreal art rock band Rapallo with a yacht-rock infused 3-song EP. Telehorn’s next live show is set for June 7th at L’Escogriffe supporting BC indie-rockers Uncle Strut on their East Coast tour.
With the release of the “Almost Lost” video, Telehorn closes the first chapter of The Gravity of See You Later and turns the page to the next phase of Telehorn’s evolving sound.
